Select the hardware options and deployment configuration that best suits your business needs.
Activa was deleloped specifically for Microsoft operating environments. It is a three-tier application comprising a client executable, a server executable and a Microsoft SQL Server relational database. It operates effectively in all of the more recent Microsoft based environments from 2003 onwards. Generally, the system operates most efficiently when installed in a network environment across dedicated systems although for smaller business systems it can also operate equally well in a suitable, stand-alone environment.
Existing client systems are many and varied in size and complexity. In some cases, due to the number of users and the size and number of databases, Activa is installed on dedicated hardware in order to priorite and optimise overall performance. However, in most situations, Activa shares both the application server and database server enviroments with many other business applications. In many cases these include the extensive use of virtual servers and Citrix based terminal servers.
As a simple guide, the following pages provide the basic hardware and software requirements.
