Interfaces
System Interfaces
Communicate with other core business systems to exchange and share data.
Increased compatibility in operating system protocols and enhanced functionality has greatly increased the opportunity for collaboration between key applications. This eliminates the perceived disadvantages in running separate applications and has gone a long way in challenging the market dominance of the 'one-stop-shop' ERP in favour of more specialised, 'best-of-breed', applications.
We take advantage of most integration techniques and the following table is a synopsis of the system interfaces currently available.
We take advantage of most integration techniques and the following table is a synopsis of the system interfaces currently available.
| Mode | Application |
| General ledger interface | This is a value-added function that incorporates a range of user definable parameters and will create an interactive SQL script or batch file using your chart of accounts to interface to most known financial information and ERP systems. Current interfaced applications include PeopleSoft, SAP, Sun Account, MBS Great Plains, Epicor, J D Edwards, Finance One, Pronto, Sage, AccPac, MFG Pro, MIMS, Omrix Smart Move, Timberland, you name it we do it. |
| Accounts payable interface | The AP Interface is incorporated in the CapEx WIP and OpEx options. Invoice transactions can be captured at the point of approval and swept to the AP ledger in a batch process that can be set to run manually or automatically as frequently as required. Synchronisation of vendor data between AP and procurement is always essential and this is achieved through a background SQL to SQL interface that runs on user-defined schedules to keep collaborating systems up to date with critical data exchange. Similar regular exchanges occur to update vendor payment information closing the cycle from PO to remittance. |
| Activa API - mobile computing and customised interfaces | The Activa Mobile solution option incorporates a standard API that provides browser access via WiFi or GPRS networking to process a range of standard system transactions. This API can also used to collaborate directly with other core business systems without user intervention via customised interfaces designed specifically for our clients to suit their business processes. |
| Document storage and retrieval | All key software modules incorporate a document retrieval function to embed and retrieve PDF format files, word documents, spreadsheets, images, etc., in fact, any OLE compliant file. These functions are actually a shared function and embedded documents can either be unique to a particular record, or be referenced by two or more. The capacity of this system is only limited by the hardware storage resources available. |
| Data export | This is essentially an unlimited system-wide capability. All data and reports can be exported directly to Excel spreadsheet format files for quick and easy integration into special project development such as budgeting, strategic planning, data analysis and specialised periodic reporting tools such TM1 and Hyperion. |
| Data import | Activa is rich with specialised import features which are quick and easy to use. They utilise a standard comma separated format file. Options range from implementation data capture to bulk transaction processing for transactions such as additions, disposals, transfers, revaluations, purchase orders and invoices, to system configuration and reviewing templates. |
| Programmable exits | Data stored in Activa can be used to reference and initiate other applications such as CAD and GIS systems and each asset record contains special reference fields for 'hot-spotting' spatial information systems. |
| Activa Job Agent | The Job Agent is a standard system option that allows the system to schedule external processes such as customised interfaces automatically. |
| Activa Job Maintenance | This is a standard system option that automatically runs a number of pre-defined system processs designed to alert users and system administrators of impending system events. |
